The OS I just downloaded has version 3.0.1.1753 is that the old or a new version?

2 days later... TI has just removed the TI-Nspire 3.0 softwares too:

The latest downloadable TI-Nspire software is back to 2.1.

Sure, go ahead, boycott TI so the sales of their most profitable division will drop by a statistically unmeaningful margin.

Yes, the 3.0 softwares files are still there but not linked from anywhere on TI's site.
The 3.0 OS files have really been removed though.

Calculators are not TI's main division. Most of what they make is semiconductors and chips.

Plus, it's not like we're their main market.

We probably make up ~1% of their calc sales.

Also, boycotting won't work, since we already bought the calcs, it's not like we were planning on buying more. They already made the money off of us. A boycott would have to be done by a) the teachers, etc. that are the target market and b) before the teachers bought their calc sets. a boycott is meaningless if the product has already been fully sold. (Not true for consumables, like transportation, groceries, office supplies, etc.) but you only buy, what, 1 calc per 5 years max? (not counting kerm and DJ :P)

Yes, but their educational division is the division with the highest profit margin.

I wonder if that is still true?  They have poured a lot of money into fixing the nspire problems and each design change seems to result in new problems to be solved with no end in sight.  For example a new OS that bricks calc's.  Also the original keyboard with its closely spaced tiny green alpha keys was terrible and the present keyboard with it's closely spaced tiny alpha keys is still terrible.
