If you visit the member list page or scroll down the front page, you will notice that certain members such as Kalan_vod and Spellshaper mysteriously jumped several ranks up among the top posters and, in the process, stole other people's spot, making them go down. Thanks to the restoration of all the 56000 posts from the previous Omnimaga sites, all post counts of current members who also had an account on either the Invisionfree or Zetaboards sites were merged together!

When this SMF board started in August 2008, the plan was that as soon as the old board was restored by the Invisionfree team, there was going to be a one-time-event where anybody from the old boards who would re-register here would see their post counts combined together. 54 member accounts (everyone who had at least one post on two Omnimaga sites and still has an account today, regardless of activity) were affected by the changes:

I scanned through the old member lists for duplicate accounts then added post counts together. Since I am no longer Omnimaga administrator, I sent the list of members and post counts to update to Juju, then he did the admin-side part of the job.

Note, however, that there were never any plan to re-do this in the future, so if you had an account on the old boards but decide to register here tonight, it is already too late for your post count to be updated. Also, the merged post counts do not include spam (although they include old intro posts).

In the future, there is a possibility that the old boards will be converted into one SMF board, either as a standalone archive or as part of the current site, so that it is possible to search old posts more reliably. A merge with the current site is less likely, though, because SMF sorts topics and replies by ID rather than date, and updating the current board IDs would break even more links than if the old IDs were updated instead.

And I think merging the old boards with this one, like DJ said, is unlikely, but putting everything on the same SMF board might be a good idea for archive purposes. The rest of the details is at the admins' discretion.

Actually there's Spellshaper and tifreak8x who are barely active anymore too, although they're not in the top 10.

I was caught rather off guard today, I logged in and saw my name on the top of a list in a news article and I was like wtf? Did I do something impressive when I wasn't looking? lol come to find out it's just 'cus I've been here forever.
