Indeed, TI seems to be heading the way Casio did in the 90's and early 2000's with calc names >.<I think the TI-82 Stats.Fr has the same hardware as the 83+ but half of the Flash isn't wired, so it's impossible to reflash the calc nor use that part of the ROM. The 82 Plus is the same as the 83+ but it uses two lithium batteries instead of the stronger one in older models.
So, TI releases a 'new' calculator which is basically just old hardware in the case of an other old calculator? It seems like TI isn't even trying anymore.
That reminds me, do you remember back when students swapped the TI-89 case with a 83 Plus one to circumvent tests restrictions?
