nice.
I think I'll try to snag one of these when I visit China next summer.  :D
It actually looks a lot better.  I wonder if they'll have custom face plates as well.

I really wonder if it's really coming out in Asia only or not, considering the news on the other site and Espace-TI. If that's the case then I don't really understand why TI would decide to release an updated 84+SE design only in Asia and not even in the very country they're based in (USA), not to mention the regular 84 Pocket came out in France. I hope this doesn't mean they plan to discontinue the 84+SE model in other areas in the future or something like that...

we really need a community member working at TI.  I mean, not necessarily giving us information they don't want us getting, but at least clear up some vague information.

The problem though is that if he's very experienced in programming and knows a lot about our discoveries, he might end up being forced to tell everything to them and not to us and then to help blocking Ndless or some other exploits we use. This is why while some people decided to sign the NDA, that there are others who will refuse to ever sign anything like that, regardless with who.

There was a TI employee who signed up at UnitedTI, but he apparently left after an issue with his account not being able to post :/ I've tried to PM him, but I don't think he's logged on since then.

I think the majority of people on omni don't know enough on ndless's inner workings to reveal such things anyways, since extended is fairly tight-lipped on exploit methods.

My uncle worked at TI before, but not in the education area. He did presentations on their microcontrollers and ARM processors in foreign countries.

All photos of the 84+ Pocket SE show that they have English keys, and handling Chinese + other asian languages in software takes a fair amount of memory, so I think that it's unlikely to have a UI in Chinese / other asian languages :)

maybe such an application like the 84+ had, which translated the ui into the language you wanted..

It's probably be a localization app if there is one, and not much further than that :P

I wouldn't mind having one of these, if it weren't for the lack of a slide case and the extra ram.

They might actually get slide case if people complain enough about them lacking them. TI did do this before.

Oh yeah. This thing NEEDS a slidecase.
