I wonder, since it's labeled .fr, would it be possible to run an english OS on it? or maybe you can just uninstall the "Francais" app. I hope it's that simple.
As far as I'd guess it should run the same software as the regular 84's, so english shouldn't be a problem. :)

I'm pretty sure it will be exactly like the TI-83+.fr: the standard OS (english) coming with the "Français" application preinstalled.
Just remove this application, and you get a standard TI-83+.

I don't see the point for TI to develop (and then update) a different z80 OS.

Well, that's a relief.

Oh good, these pictures were looking worse and worse :D

So..just how fast is that factor finder you made? :P

Fast enough to crack the Nspire keys in ~560 ms :P

J/k, it's pretty much a pointless program from back when I had time to make pointless programs.

Well, there's the Voyage 400 200, but remember that QWERTY keypads automatically disqualify a calculator for many major standardized tests, like the SAT.

I wonder why qwerty ones are blocked from anything -- is there any legit reason?

I think it was because they wanted a quick and easy way to distinguish between "computers" and "calculators." Plus it's a lot easier to msg other people with a QWERTY keypad than with an ABCDE one (unless you're like me ;D).

yeah, I can type up a sentence on the calculator pretty damn fast -- I guess once you get good at programming, you have to be able to do it that fast :)

The real reason to block QWERTY is to block small laptops that fit the other requirements. Also, the SAT has a writing portion where typing might help.

In 2002 and 2003 I could type faster on the calc than I do now on the computer. O.O
