TI-Connect beta patch for 64 bit OSes
«

Texas Instruments has recently released a patch for TI-Connect that allows 64-bit Windows Vista and 7 users to use it on their operating systems. The patch kind of went unnoticed on TI website due to no announcements about it (since most news there are pretty much about the TI-Nspire now), but it was discovered by Critor2000 from TI-Bank website, who also posted a news article about the release here (in French):
http://ti.bank.free.fr/index.php?mod=news&ac=commentaires&id=768
First you need to install TI-Connect, then you apply the patch. Both are available below:
http://education.ti.com/educationportal/downloadcenter/SoftwareDetail.do?website=US&tabId=1&appId=183
Since the patch contains the word "beta" in it, this means it is not finished and its stability is not guaranteed, however hopefully it should fix most people problems running TI-Connect in Windows Vista and Windows 7 64-bit, as TI-Connect was originally made for 32-bit OSes.
Should Texas Instruments remove the patch from their website for any reason, we will add a copy to our download section later.

I thought this was gonna be a Rickroll but it's not! It's real! Good to know TI's working on a patch for 64 bit OS users.

It's about FREAKING TIME!!!!! I bought a 64-bit OS last year and I've been going to the library to upload my programs (if you think I'm kidding, think again). No more need to walk 5 miles for my programs! WOO!!!

People can use TiLP too as alternative, but some people don't like TiLP or have problems with it IIRC. I don't, but until there are bugfixes applied on it (mostly for the 8xg file issue) I kinda prefer to stick to TI Connect to do backups

A full backup is better with TI-Connect. no doubt.
But to backup just programs TilP is great because it is fast. Just remember to receive 30 files at a time...

Yea, I noticed Tilp forces me to group stuff I sent from the calc to the PC, which is annoying, cuz I have to send files by small chunks, which can take a while if I have many sub programs or large programs, since it won't let me do groups larger than the RAM.
