If this calc is released in USA, I'm suggesting it to all my friends as a hobbyist's calc, unless TI decides to be turds and lock it down. O_O

I actually like both mockups, but I think I like the colour scheme better in the first one. The arrow keys look better in the second one though. Has TI given a tentative release date yet? I am interested in this calc. I am also curious as to if this one will have the full extra memory like the older TI-84 models did. We need more info! :D

On the other hand, I just realized something: Since it was released after OS 2.55MP came out, chances are none of the previous OS versions will work O.O
Why not? The normal 84+ doesn't have any downgrade protection at all. If it's going to have the same feature set as the original 84+, additions to the OS (like what happened with the 83+SE) aren't going to be necessary - you can just put any 84+ compatible OS on it. (Maybe even WFRNG OS ;D)

It's completely possible. The TI-83 Plus Silver Edition doesn't accept OSes before 1.13, for instance. Same with touchpads and the first clickpad OSes. Earlier OSes just don't take new hardware into account.

1.12 and older OSes don't run on the TI-83+SE, because of the different unsupported hardware.

But are you sure they aren't installable?...
Maybe the OSes would require some modifications to be installed on newer models that aren't supported by them?

I remember OS 1.12 wouldn't send to my 83+SE too. Btw 1.13 is so unstable X.x, not as much as the fake 2.71MP but still causes random crashes.
