Btw, Ndless is not compatible with TI Nspire Computer Link Software version 1.4. It throws the following error:

Ndless itself works fine, but is it normal, that I have to do a full reboot after I shut down the clalc?
Wenn I turn him off, and on again, I can't see anything, but on the Computer (via screenshot print service from the TI-Nspire Link software) I can see, that it is on.

So when I open the keypad, put out a battery and bring it back, turning on the calc. I can see it and play or whatever...
(Sry for the bad english, it's not my motherlanguage :P)

Edit: On my sisters nspire works everything fine, on the one of my friend is the same problem...

This is the evil OS 1.1 power management bug. On newer calcs, some change has caused the old LCD initialization functions from OS 1.1 to not work. Try calc84's fix (found in the Omnimaga archives).

Oh it's not really a Ndless bug, but more of a TI-Nspire OS 1.1 incompatibility with TI-Nspires manufactured after 2008. I have the same problem. It can be annoying, but the trick is to download the Reset program found in our downloads section:

http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=486

Simply select this program without running it, then turn off your calc (or let it turn itself off). When turning the calc back on, at least, all you need to do is press enter so it will reboot the calc. No more need to remove the keyboard and batteries everytime.

There was an hardware change on newer TI-Nspire calculators causing power management to not work properly with old OSes. I myself had this problem even without Ndless installed.

Hopefully, in a few weeks or months, Ndless will come out for OS 2.0, which should address this problem.

And welcome here :)

Yeah thanks I really like this page and found out that OS 2.0 has a real better menu.
So I hope you'll get it soon :D

Actually it's ExtendeD and Geogeo who are working on Ndless. I can't wait until it comes out for 2.0. I like Ndless but right now I need my TI-84 emulation mode for Axe Parser programming and Calc84maniac Reset program linked above will not work in 84+ mode, so it's very annoying. In other words now I got 2.0 back on my calc x.x

TI-Bank has received today a lawyer letter, asking in the name of TI for the removal of all TI-Nspire OS 1.1 copies on the server.

The letter is mentionning neither other versions of the OS, neither z80/68k OSes.

So it's definately an attack against Ndless.
(TI doesn't learn from its mistakes...)

Starting from today, Ndless 1.0 won't be able to download the OS 1.1 from TI-Bank any more.

So Ndless needs to be updated.

wow, just wow...

I am glad they did not ask you to delete Ndless from the site, though, but it still sucks.

Btw, in the past, TI attacked other TI sites including some french ones for hosting copies of their OSes. They simply asked the respective sites to delete these files from their webspace, but I was certain they had stopped, now, since TI-BANK had OSes for a while.

This is definitively an attack against Ndless. I wouldn't be surprised if a new OS that is not downgradeable was released once Ndless 2 comes out.

They acted late. Lots of people have OS 1.1 copies because of Ndless...

Anyway, nothing that Ndless update can't fix.

Wait, which law did they refer to? DMCA has no power in France!

EDIT:
nvm, I read the letter. Apparently French copyright law covers this...

Ouch. That sucks.

Anyway, Ndless for OS 2.0 will be soon available, so I guess that this won't be much of a problem.

Ouch I hope Ndless will be compatible with OS 2.0.1, which just got released by TI today (suspicious, eh?), apparently..., or at least that OS 2.0.1 will be downgradeable to 2.0 on newer calcs. Either way, for now, just do like calc/NES/SNES ROMs, keep a copy on your computer then make sure it is spread privately or through sites not affected by copyrights, so the OS can still be easy to find by people who search well.

Really? There's a 2.0.1 version out? Did TI say what they added to it?
If they didn't say anything, then this looks suspicious. I suspect they have added more measures against Ndless. So I won't recommend anyone to upgrade until we'll know whether Ndless will work on it or not.
