TI-Nspire CX and TI-Nspire OS 3.0
« on: February 23, 2011, 07:37:12 pm »
Since the original news about the new TI-Nspire CX calculator was posted, some more information has come out about the calculator itself and the new Nspire Operating System, Version 3.0.

We have finally been able to see a picture of this calculator!:

TI-Bank has put together a collection of the screenshots currently available of TI-Nspire OS 3.0, which should be released any day now.  From the release of the latest TI-84 OS, we can predict that it will be updated with the new 84 ROM version 2.56 MP.  Here are some of the available screenshots of OS 3.0:

The last of these screenshots is also assumed to be TI's first official screenshot of the Nspire CX, as originally seen in this picture:

Also, interestingly, unless I have an issue with my web browser, this image has been removed from its original page page on TI's website.

Hopefully, more information will come about about the TI-Nspire CX and the new OS Version 3.0 in the next few days!  We will most certainly get more information when the T3 conference begins this Friday! :)

Hmm, will it be the exact same OS file for both regular Nspire calcs? If so, then this means the CX will have 84+ emulation. I forgot about OS 2.56MP being mentionned in some of their stuff before, but it was gonna be included in the next OS IIRC.

Btw I like the regular calc look more than the CAS. For the CAS I kinda prefer the CAS Touchpad one. It looks less like a giant remote control with a screen. :P

As far as the CX calcs go, I am pretty much neutral to which one I like more, but, I do like the design of the CX calcs much more than the old hardware design (those bulges really hurt in my pocket sometimes :P)!

Yeah I hated how the upper part was much larger. Personally I also disliked the colors of the clickpad calcs.

Ironically, when I first bought my Nspire, everyone in my school told me they loved the blue color (except myself)!  I still love the darker colors of the new models, though! :)

I really like the look of these calcs too, I thought the prizm looked too much like a cell phone :P The old Nspire is just hideous as well.

Personally i like the Prizm look, except the huge keys at the bottom, but I prefer the TI-84 look to it.

Hmmm... I wonder if I should buy one...  The color screen is too hard to resist.

If they have proper programming support, I bet someone could make an nes emulator for it.

If there's 84 emulation, how do you change the keypads, the seam below the arrows makes for a small 84 keypad. At least the cx doesn't have wings like the old nspire, hopefully it is more pocket friendly  ::)
It is bad luck to be superstitious.

I prefer the Ti-Nspire Non-CAS color scheme than this. I don't like all black. this looks amazing, I might even get one if TI doesn't overprice it like everything else they sell. I am wondering about Camdenmil's worry. It doesn't appear to have a seam anywhere for the TI-84+keypad to go in. I wonder with the calculator color will they adapt the TI-84+ to be color also?

An NES Emulator (NESpire) already exists for the Nspire! :)

I hope the front isn't glossy, as hinted in the second picture. I hate the look of glossy plastic.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: This had better have better Ti-Basic programming than its predecessor

But if we get some awesome C/ASM games on this thing, it will be the first calculator I buy in years
