For the Planète-Casio FX-9860G programming competition, many entries were submitted and the 10 best ones were selected to win one of the Casio PRIZM calculators offered. However, two in particular stands out more than the others, and if it wasn't for the slower loading speed present in any BASIC program, the two games in question could have been mistaken for add-ins.
First of all there is Ice Slider, a port of the iPhone game where you got to guide a penguin on a slippy surface to get food. When you start moving in a direction you cannot stop: only blocks in your way can stop you, kinda like JustCause TI-84 Plus Axe game Cubes and Squidgetx's The Psyche. It comes with a level editor and several built in levels.
It can be downloaded
here, but the game is only available in French.
Secondly there is Toki Tori, a platformer game that originally came out for the Game Boy Color and later the iPhone, adapted for the FX-9860G. You have to guide Toki Tori through multiple stages (or even your own ones that you can create with the built-in level editor) and collect eggs as you go. Here is a screenshot:
Download link is available
here. Like the other game above, this one is in French too.
Please note, however, that unlike several BASIC games, these two games will not run correctly on a Casio PRIZM.
On that note we would also like to congrats all the PC contest participants, results of which are located
here.
