Omni has been hacked! O.oNope, we just officially changed to be TIPlanet
Also the name change is partly so DJ Omnimaga won't be confused as admin. Well, that's the solution we found. Might work, I dunno.
Obviously this is an April-fools prank. You are mistaken. It's not April 1st yet. This cannot be an April fools prank.
I like the background, can we have this be a choice for background?Have fun http://imgur.com/0VMvT,qfw8m,PVCLd#0
ps: it is 3 hours before april first hereNot in France :3
Juju is your new name permanent?Maybe, maybe not.
Eh attendez, si ici c'est TI Planet c'est qu'on doit parler français alors :PDgooits tteo rraepmpeemlbeerr EFnrgelnicssh. :P
It is possible that the goal might be so that TI-Planet becomes English and Omnimaga French. :PI, for one, welcome our new French overlords.
Or maybe a future merge? O.O (although if that ever happens, the site would need to be English by default, use the fast theme by default and have smart navigation disabled by default unless the site was moved to an American server)
I am quite disappointed with the name change and background. I strongly believe that we should be called prizmPlanet. That is the direction the community will be going for the next few years.
ahahaha
I think Omni has been hacked.I agree! Why is everything so blue again!? :(
Well, but in all seriousness, what if ti-planet and omnimaga did merge? Then we would be only 50K posts away from making it to Big Boards lists (which requires 500000 posts). We would also have a lot more features. There would be some issues, though:
-TI-Planet takes a long time to load in North AmericaIt may be because my connexion is strange but here (in my house in France), Omnimaga loads very fast and TI Planet has longer loading times but is still quite fast.
-I'M fairly sure that Omnimaga loads very slowly in Europe
-TI-Planet takes a long time to load in North AmericaIt depends on your FAI and suscribtions. TI-Planets pings google.com (not google.fr) at 1.2ms
-I'M fairly sure that Omnimaga loads very slowly in EuropeOmnimaga loads fine for me.
-TI-Planet shoutbox often fails to load. This is a bug in the shoutbox : when someone deletes a post, the chat remains blank until someone posts a new message.
-TI-Planet's design is Web 2.0-heavy, so a lot of Omnimaga members would no longer be able to visit the site due to outdated computers (as guests, your settings are not saved properly, such as disabling smart navigation and switching to lite theme).I agree the website could be heavy for non-recent computer. I apologizes for that, but I was guided by new HTML5 features, developping on an i7 ...
-TI-Planet is French by default. It would need to be English by default with a very large to see option to switch to French. Else a lot of users would be turned away. In fact, I think a slogan would have to be added clearing stating that this is a bilingual site. This is a deep problem, since a lot of strings are hardcoded in the template / sources.
Some people have issues loading Omnimaga in locations other then North America due to the fact that our server is in NA. If you ping us you'll notice that you don't have the best ping.Quote-I'M fairly sure that Omnimaga loads very slowly in EuropeOmnimaga loads fine for me.

I myself get a ping of around 38ms, I'm assuming yours will be much higher.
Just some answers, unrelated to the topic :Hmm what does FAI stand for? Also for the loading issues it might possibly depend of location in North America or Europe, then. I know that in Florida, IRC used to lag like crazy, and for a short while, following Hurricane Sandy, Omnimaga took a long time to load on East Coast (including Quebec), with pings averaging around 800ms. On the other hand, the settings are saved properly in the cookies. If your browser cleans those cookies, then it's your problem. I never encoured any problem, even in guest mode. Also, if you're logged in, the settings are saved in your account settings (no more cookies).Quote-TI-Planet is French by default. It would require a lot of work to make it properly bilingual..

Hmm what does FAI stand for?Fournisseur d'accès à Internet, or in English, an ISP.
