Welcome back in 2005

Tonight, after two days of sparse work and 1 year of wait since the last forum redesign, we are introducing a Simple Machines Forums remake of our old BlueGray theme!
Those who have been part of the TI community for at least 5 years probably remember this old forum design we used on Invisionfree, back when Omnimaga had its first activity spike. The theme, which was renamed to v2.5 (2005) SMF Remix to fit the pattern in which the other available themes are named, was used starting in December 2005, shortly after a new Omnimaga programming team was restarted, and was kept until April 9th 2006. Problems occurred afterward, then the site re-opened under version 3.0, using a darker version of the BlueGray theme (which was remade last year for use on this board as alternate theme). That darker version was used until the shut down of the Invisionfree site on Jan 1st 2008 night. The temporary board created by some staff requests used the default Zetaboards theme.
For those who haven't been around when we used this theme, the background image was drawn by hand by Master Jc, one of our staff member from that era. The banner is a modified version of the v2.0 banner used before the online programming team was formed. The previous one said "Your Calculator RPGs Headquarter v2.0" as slogan and missed the Chrono Fantasy sprite to the right. As you will notice if you switch to that theme on the front page, the 2010 banner we use by default uses the calculator pictures present in the 2005 one. The 2010 banner was in fact greatly inspired from the v2.x banner. The v2.x one uses recycled elements from the v1.2 site (before we moved to Invisionfree).
Anyway, if you want to see how Omnimaga looked like back in Late 2005 and Early 2006, if you want a different look or if you want to see how crappy GIF compression could look like, feel free to try the SMF remake of the theme now! Simply choose from the drop down list in the left side bar on the front page or at the very bottom of the board index.
Don't worry, we're not bringing back the xLIB xLIB Revolution alternate theme, unless you want an idea of how most Geocities websites looked like.

It's quite enjoyable and refreshing to have this theme
A little bit of nostalgia goes a long way, even if I wasn't here for this rendition of the forum

By the way, if anyone uses SmoothScroll, scrolling in this theme seems to be slower than usual... Dunno why, though.

Omnimaga has always been scrolling a bit slowly on the default theme on my other computer. Smooth scrolling is turned off.

Oh yeah, just noticed it's the same with the v5 theme. Probably just the scrolling bg. Looks greaat, though! I actually like this font size. More text on screen

Glad you like it. Of course it's not really perfect, since it was designed for InvisionBoard, but back then it did the job well. Also the background image looks better on a resolution of 1024x768 or lower, but it seems to still look fine even at higher resolution, even with the tiling.
