i think we could do that round robin thing, basically it would be easier for everyone to play against each others

assuming for example that rivereye, me, silver and spelli played, it would be like this

spelli v rivereye
spelli v silver
spelli v xlibman
silver v rivereye
silver v xlibman
rivereye v xlibman

so there would be 6 games, each people would get one point per win. if the winner doesnt save a replay, he get no point though, so that reduce his chance of reaching finals. 2 person would reach finals. If in any case there is a tie, those person plays again against each other. if there is 3 person tied to make things faster it would be 1v1v1 free for all for this game.

that would work. This way, you are judged fairly according to your abilities.

true. I wonder tho, how are disconnects judged? I mean if for example a person's Internet die in the middle of the game, do they restart all over or do they both get 0 points?

I think that unless there is a clear advantage, the match must begin again (this way, I can't yank my wifi if I am about to lose and begin again).

How much does Starcraft cost. Im looking to invest in a game.
There are 10 types of people in this world-- those that can read binary, and those that can't.

Starcraft is really cheap actually, $20 for the game and expansion pack with strategy guides.

spelli got the first version for $5. Don't download it from a torrent because then u cannot play online.

THere will be no prize, as it is mostly for fun, but you'Ll be in the award section of the site probably.

Also @everyone: PLEASE DISABLE XFIRE DURING TOURNAMENT, IT MAKE THE GAME LAG SO BADLY!

EDIT: yea I'll post the replays. It will be fun cuz then everyone will see how ppl planned their strategy and built

well err... My main problem is that I like to amass a big multi-purpose army and then smash.

And like in the game vs you (xlibman), I was too slow and you already beat one of my bases down ^^
But then, I now have a bit more experience with sc since I was on a LAN on sylvester, polishing my skills :Dbiggrin.gif

hehe. That's what I do in all strategy games where it is possible:
Build multiple bases.
-> more ressources
-> faster research
-> decentralized and fast army building
-> should one base fall, migrate the growing army to another. saves ressources in the long run, since you don't have to stay and defend at all costs.

The big part of my army was in the lower left corner of the map.
I had another eleven carriers there and was researching arbiter tecs for surprise surprise teleportations :knight:knight3.gif

but still I think I was too slow lolz

Spellshaper, you should have made zillions of Photon turrets, shield batteries, and fully upgraded archons to defend your first base while you upgraded you arbiters. Well, maybe some dragoons, too, but archons rule (I usually lead my first wave of ground attacks with just 12 archons). But of course, you have your own strategies, no need to listen to a guy who has never played on sc battlenet  :oops:embarassed.gif ...
