Well last year we had more participants in general, but then around late August most of them lost their entire progress in ram clears, with no backups D:, plus some people ran out of time since they had huge projects. Hopefully this year projects are planned better, in terms of data protection and time management. :)

Well, the criteria are narrower, so no RPGs, but the massive amounts of physics games worries me.

btw, changed my vote to yes, no that I figured out what I'm going to do.  ;)

Spoiler For =====My Projects=====:
Minor setback due to code messing up.  On hold for Contest.

OMG. Well I began reading HotDog's ASM tutorials about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Am i really going to step up and be committed to learning and programming Axe Parser on wabbitemu and have a game ready in 2 months?
BooYah! I have an idea for a puzzle game, though it remains to be seen whether i can learn and program in 2 months.
I downloaded Axe 0.52 the other day and am committing to finding tutorials around. Any tutorials around u think are useful?

I will be happy enough if i am one of the few who manage to submit an entry. That'll be satisfaction for me. Then we'll see about #3

Don't get overwhelmed though, a lot of those tutorials can be pretty specific and hard to understand without a basic understanding of axe

If you make an actual Castlevania game, prepare to get a lot of attention from a certain qazz42. :P

It won't be Castlevania.  It will just draw some elements from it.  I hope I can get over my cold so I don't fall too behind schedule. :P

Sorry to hear about your cold. Hopefully it won't last for 2 months and prevent you from participating :P

List of stuff I need to do before September:
1. Finish the Emulator of the Casio Prizm (in active development)
2. Finish the the SH3 asm IDE/assembler/linker program (in active development)
3. Create a partial Java virtual machine  for the Prizm (not started)
4. Create Axe for the Prizm with an Axe legacy mode (in planning phase)
5. Develop a large set of C and asm libraries for the Prizm (some progress)
6. Create an emulator of the 83+ for the Prizm (not started)
7. Create a well polished game that showcases the ability of the Casio Prizm (not started)

Are these contest only for z80 calcs? I know the axe parser one is, but I'm not sure if there are going to be other contests for all calcs.
