Mine won't have too much content. Once I get the raycasting working, I just need to make a few different levels, add an HUD and weapons, and zombies with a rudimentary AI system that makes them move towards the player.

I won't announce updates in my thread unless I add a new function.  I mean, what's the point of showing you guys the new levels and how to beat them?  ;)

I agree, I also never see Continuity Screenshots past the 1st level so I don't learn how to beat the levels.

I was thinking about participating in the Axe Contest at first, but my platformer's code was getting too big for me.

Then I thought about the Lua one, but Lua is not much of a language. I *may* make a very simple Lua game for the contest, but am not sure yet, probably not.
You could just play the flash game.  >:D

Spoiler For =====My Projects=====:
Minor setback due to code messing up.  On hold for Contest.

The Game is only a demo, the code that allows one to win hasn't been done.

...Raycasting *platformer*?? Does that mean both ray *and* floorcasting? That's gonna be tough, even Runer112s raycaster struggles in 15mhz with textures iirc....idk how much more strain adding a floorcaster onto it would have.

edit: oh lol nspire k gotcha :)

This is on nspire, so I don't need platforms ;)
My raycaster should run at at least the same speed as bwang's, but most likely faster as I am using all fixed point math.

That's cool to hear. I do not think extremly high precision from floating points is needed anyway, considering that's a calculator game running on low resolution.

And yeah the TI-Nspire contest allows any game genre. The reason why the Axe contest is limited to two ranges of games is because it would have been redudant to do an Axe contest where any game is allowed, two years in a row.

With the fixed point system I am using, I will actually get better precision in most cases, especially at high X and Y coordinates on the map, though the range is limited to 65536 blocks now. If I can get floorcasting to be fast enough, I will add it, but that is a secondary goal.

Well personally I would probably at least announce that the project isn't dead, but you just were working on levels. Else, if there are no post, people might think it's dead and worry it won't be finished in time for the deadline.

Hmm random idea, are there going to be userbars relating to these contests or something?  "Entrant" "Third Place" "Second Place" "Winner" etc.

We were supposed to have some last year too, but then I never could figure out decent ones :(.

This year, though, I guess I could just use modified versions of the contest logos.
