Chrome notifications and colors
« on: July 25, 2011, 11:49:38 am »
Chrome notifications do not work well with colors. The notification is given without being HTML-ified like in OmnomIRC, so colors (and presumably use of bold and underlining) don't work. (For colors, for example, there's a \x03 for every color change, including also the color code.)

Strange; it works for me.  (I'm on Windows 7)

Hm. I'm using a Firefox extension, so let me try it in Chrome.
Edit: Nope, doesn't work in Chrome either. It doesn't display the non-printable characters, but the color code is still there.

I'm sending the raw message to the highlights without proper color parsing. I'd rather not have colors in the highlights, but I will get at removing the color codes.

No colors is fine. I just don't want the color codes or the special character used to indicate a color change (same thing for bold and underline).

You can build a statue out of either 1'x1' blocks or 12'x12' blocks. The 1'x1' blocks will take a lot longer, but the final product is worth it.
