I think it would be nice to have an ignore feature on OmnomIRC which hides messages from certain people in particular, based on either IRC nickname, forum nickname, IRC hostmask or forum user ID number, wildcard included for nicks/hosts. It would of course only work per user basis, not ignore one person from everyone (unless a ban feature working that way was implemented too?).
With how large this part of the community grew over the years, our user range is wider now, and unfortunately there are certain people that may not get along as well, as you could see with the SirCmpwn incident and also from certain members from other sites that tries to impose their respective sites' views on us, acting like if only their site views was good, and doing it without any respect. While in many cases they migth not deserve a ban or that it's their first or second time ever doing something wrong, often this is at risk of happening between the same people more often than with others, when if they could hide each other's messages, fights could be avoided more. Some of us either don't have a full IRC client installed or simply do not want to have a chat client opened when they don't IRC regularly, so they use OmnomIRC instead. It would be nice if each of us could simply type /ignore to hide messages/PMs from specific users, kinda like how the forum has an ignore feature for your inbox.

That would be good. Perhaps there could be something similar that would temporarily block someone in omnom, so you could have multiple conversations going in the channel, without people getting confused as to who is talking to who.
-
I never use /ignore (because I always had something against this command), but yeah that would be nice for the ones who use it. Also don't forget /unignore :)
-
I guess a temp block could work too. A permanent block with the option to unignore manually would be nice too, though, so we don't have to block someone everytime.
-
I'll keep that in mind. I've been working off and on on an update, I'll try to get that into it.

Yay, updates ftw \o/

Nice to hear Netham45. Also another thing I thought about /ignore now is that we also got third-party channels and if there's an ignore feature and people there caused trouble, then maybe just the ignore feature can be used, so the channel doesn't need to be taken off OmnomIRC.

That would indeed be useful to avoid drama like the one that happened earlier today.
