Btw will it still be possible to disable OmnomIRC (not just collapsing it)? It would be nice, regardless of the browser compatibility or not, because sometimes, when I'm on my phone, Tapatalk is even slower than the real site itself (probably due to crappy public wi-fi) and attachments do not work.

Also will disabling OmnomIRC work based on cookies rather than account settings? When I disable OmnomIRC on my phone, DS or whatever, it ends up being disabled on my computer too. Often, people will disable it because one of their computer is too slow to run it, without necessarily disabling it everywhere, so maybe individual settings per browser/computers (cookies) would be nice.

Another idea could be to let the user choose in the options.

They are halfway there!

@DJ: They can fork the code, make changes and then make pull requests so that I can import their changes into my code.
I'll add an option for auto-connect that will be stored like the rest of the options, local to the browser.

IDK if i posted here about it yet, but i'm kinda every now and then working on a admin pannel where you can easily set some stuff then without needing to edit config files....a nice GUI!

That would be nice. By the way will the new OmnomIRC support banning (so that if someone gets moved to an usergroup with no OmnomIRC privileges or his account gets banned), he can no longer send text if he still has an OmnomIRC tab open?

That was kinda problematic in the early days of OmnomIRC v1 and early days of v2 because then we had to set the channel +m then devoice the OmnomIRC bot until we are sure that the person no longer has a tab open.  >.<

Well, on OIRC3 that is all been handled over plugins or scripts or extentions or however you wanne call it.....and that is my programming job that'll start soon as Eeems is (i think) almost done with the API, so i'll just have to re-program all the features ^^

The new one will provide this type of support to the authentication api. It will re-auth with the site every half an hour or so and allow certain people the ability to kick/silence users.

um, will the sig key also change often? Because otherwise it could just get fished easily and you could write a userscript to constantley change the sig key once you have to re-auth

Btw what is the minimum post count requirement for OmnomIRC? If it's 20, then you should edit the Guest OmnomIRC block so that it says 20 instead of 40. :P

Right now the 40 posts block is only about displaying omnomirc, if other users with less than 40 posts visit omnomirc.www.omnimaga.org they can still chat on omnomirc :P

Oh ok. I guess it might be nice to limit other people, though, if, one day, the other block gets too popular outside the forums (Google for example) and new people starts abusing it or spam with questions about "Haw I tarn my clautalocr on". I guess it's fine for now, though.

It still requires a omni account, which again, is easy to make....but yeah, a server-side check wouldn't be too hard :)
