Title: Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening

I have decided to a version of Link's Awakening, originally for the Gameboy. I have decided that things like exploring, puzzle solving, etc. will be real-time, while battle will be turn-based, thus adding an RPG element. The project will begin with sprites.I'll be using xLib and BASIC, and I am making it on a 84+SE. I say it will be done in 1-5 months (I have to take into account school work), but I am hoping for less than 5 months.

I have decided to use 16x12 sprites.


Since this picture has been taken, I am working on the Link sprites for other directions. Facing up, down, and left should be done tomarrow.

I wanna see how this turns out :)
Oh, and the sprite is neat, but methinks the nose is a bit dominating... ;)

Cool...another Zelda project.  I can't wait to see the differences between all of these projects, even though they are based upon the same story.

wow that look nice, I really hope you can finish it, I remember from UTI this was pure basic, are you gonna have similar sprite to zelda Link awakening done with lines/text/pixels? this would be cool!

ugh my bad... I didnt read it much cuz I was checking progress on Unitedti before and he was still debating whether to make it pure or not at that time >.<

 Heh, it's ok. Very understandable, seeing as on UTI I was editing my post a lot, deciding which to use. But yes, I am using xLib.

I also plan on finishing this project. Unfortunetly, the first post is a tad inaccurate, I don't know how long it will take, as I will be busy (this is my freshman year of high school). I'll be a bit bogged down (my schedule) Geometry Honors, English Honors, History, Biology, French I, and Latin I.

I will do my very best to stay as active as possible in the forums (I'll have time after homewor, don't worry  :P  And I am still dead set on finishing this project.

a lot of zelda games get discontinued just like that amazing 4lvl greyscale zelda game someone was making in ASM

yeah i think its one game that is kinda hard to make, especially in asm. and when done in basic then you have to spend the entire time optimizing it to make it run faster

xlibman, you should make a 4lvl gs zelda game. Make your own quests though.

 That was a demo of what you can do with Ducks GPP, which was just a demo :(.

well it was freakin slow anyway for a asm zelda game, with RGP it would be much faster, or tr1p1ea own gs routine
