the engine is practically complete
i have to do another IA wich will be better..
map, keys, doors, script, stories... DONE
Menu is partially done. i currently use a "inventory" wich is pretty much like the original RE but i think that i'll re-do it using sprites... it will be more fast
so great progress were done! the door/key system is done, and it's accurate, moving object on the map definitely is now possible... (but i'll rethink of it as it slow the map loading a little
I'm now on the Inventory system, and after that, i'll do the IA...
Idea and Commentary are welcome
don't worry the game's in english :lol:

Well I am happy it's in English
, and I think it sounds like fun ^.^. Did you mean AI when you say IA? I am pretty sure that's what you meant, but wasn't positive >.>

:huh:
Why the hell do you want a French version
I can do it, it will be pretty simple, all the script, text and all, is in a sub program...
I have done a big part of the inventory gestion today! *proud*
It's kinda like the original one, but simplified... and it's done using the graphical screen... I wish i could use sprite
I may need help to do the graphics for the items, (handgun and all that stuff)
Ah! i almost forgot... Now the Hit detection system is a sub program, so the game is now running 50% more fast!! B)
Next thing to do? AI, Files (books and stuff) and a mapping system... (an overall map?)

If you are going to use xLIB, you can use sprites easily

cool, I was j/k about french version btw I can read english pretty nicely enough anyway, plus in english you should save at least 1 KB of RAM with shorter text ^_^

OK so, here's the news...
I'm not gone, and I'm on the project as always..
since i got back to school last week, I just beginned to work on it again.
But I got like a year of free time, so it will be done, but I wont give any release date.

Yeah, I did not have much time for school, I worked too much
but now i'm on the game... and I'm experimenting with ascii maps with sfx (oh yeah
)
like a diablo game, hack/slash type, who's fast... (a pain in the a**
)
It could be long, could be fast...
The BIG problem with RE is that my engine is not completely optimized so the door system would be buggy after 2-3 chapters (i would be completely f***ed up with the numbers of possible doors
)
I'll do what I can folks, but don't expect a release date

yea sometimes it can be hard to manage all variables, you end up with var conflict

The real problem is more about me being not organised at all...

Yeah variable managment and being organized is hard I try to do it sometimes by keeping some throw away vars that can be used for anything but it is still pretty hard when dealing with big big games
