[Howto] Downgrading TI-Nspire 3.0, the hard-way
« on: May 01, 2011, 09:28:56 pm »
I've been asked for information several times here.

So if you've installed the 3.0 Nspire OS with the 3.0 Boot2, here's my step by step how-to in order to remove the 3.0 Boot2 using a TTL<->USB adapter and then downgrade your OS.
http://ti.bank.free.fr/index.php?mod=archives&ac=voir&id=3503 (in french)

You've got lots of photos, schematics, logs, captures and links.

Feel free to report any error.

If someone wants to translate/adapt in english, just ask me for the editable file through PM.

Nice tutorial critor! HOpefully someone can translate it in english for the non-visual people. Hopefully the pictures should help a lot, though.

Here is a 2nd tutorial I've made in order to repair TI-Nspire calculators bricked by the 3.0.1 OS.

The required hardware is the same, but the actions are not in the same order and a little different too.

Cool, thanks for this. SHould be useful in case someone installs OS 3.0.1 but forgets about the bug.

I have installed OS3 and now I want to install OS2. My french so bad. But I understand that I should:
1. Install OS3 without boot2
2. Install old version of boot2 via UART.
3. Install OS I want via USB(TI Computer Link)
(Am I right?)
I have done 1 and 2, but I cant install OS2 because "You cant install OS older then installed now". At this moment I have TI Nspire CAS with:
1. boot1 version: 1.4.8916.
2. boot2 version: 1.4.1571
3. OS version: 3.0.2.1791

What do I should do to install OS 2.x?
PS Sorry for my english.
