I'm not sure if it's even officially maintained anymore as a calc site. Two of the last news from the site weren't even calc related games. On top of that one of the two admins, Allynfolksjr/Nikky Southerland, has joined Ticalc.org file archiving staff over a year ago.

The only good thing with it is that it has the Super Mario 2.0 (unofficial) version. After all this time, do you think it can be possible to put that file on ticalc.org?

Calcg.org used to be very great, though, because it was easy to find up to date tutorials at the time (on ticalc, everything was from 1997-98), file archives were updated much faster than on ticalc (even after Nikky/Travis joined their staff), you would upload a file on the site, tell tifreak on IRC and it would be added within minutes, plus they did not allow games that lacks any documentation. Also I think they filtered out guessing games and other crappy stuff.

As for Super Mario 2.0 ticalc did not re-add it because they were forced by the author to take it down and it was not uploaded by him (it's against ticalc rules to upload somebody else's files, unlike on calcg.org). THe author probably didn't notice about calcg.org, since it was newer at the time, thus, the file remained there.

Is CalcG.org the same as CalcGames.org? I went on both of them just for curiosity, and although they have very different layouts, they have almost identical features. What's the difference?

CalcG.org used to be calcgames.org, but for some reasons, after the redesign of 2007, they decided to switch URL and keep the old framed website around, slightly modified. The official one is now CalgG.org, though

What's the difference between v1.2 and v2.0? Wouldn't the author have submitted the program himself if it were better?

2.0 fixes some collision detection glitches demonstrated in my tool-assisted speedrun of 1.2:

Altough still kinda present, the glitches are far less bad. I do not remember what other features 2.0 had, though. I heard stuff like better fireballs and water, but the later might be wrong.

Do not use the 2.0 editor, though, because it crashes even more than the 1.2 editor.

The reason why 2.0 was never officially released is simply because it was never really finished.

Money = sqrt(Evil) (Money is also the root of all evil)
Girls = sqrt(Evil) squared (So, girls are the root of all evil squared)
