Unfortunately Texas Instruments either knew or cared about compatibility with their older models of the Nspires. The power management bug takes place where an older calculator tries to run operating system 1.1. Every time you want to use it, you must remove the keypad, then take out a battery. Then you should replace both the keypad and the battery. Press the On button and the calculator will boot up fully within the next 1-5 minutes. If you choose not to, the calculator will do a continuous restart until it runs out of power.
