4. Ti-nspire occasionally have hardware updates.  Unfortunately Texas Instruments either knew or cared about compatibility with their older models of the Nspires.  The power management bug takes place where an older calculator tries to run operating system 1.1.  Every time you want to use it, you must remove the keypad, then take out a battery.  Then you should replace both the keypad and the battery.  Press the On button and the calculator will boot up fully within the next 1-5 minutes.  If you choose not to, the calculator will do a continuous restart until it runs out of power.

768 is the number of bytes in the screen buffer.

Spoiler For Projects:

My projects haven't been worked on in a while, so they're all on hiatus for the time being. I do hope to eventually return to them in some form or another...

Spoiler For Pokemon TI:
Axe port of Pokemon Red/Blue to the 83+/84+ family. On hold.

Spoiler For Nostalgia:
My big personal project, an original RPG about dimensional travel and a few heroes tasked with saving the world.
Coding-wise, on hold, but I am re-working the story.

Spoiler For Finale's Super Insane Tunnel Pack of Doom:
I will be combining Blur and Collision Course into a single gamepack. On hold.

Spoiler For Nostalgia Origins: Sky's Story:
Prequel to Nostalgia. On hold, especially while the story is re-worked.

5. It appears that the Ti-89, which is one of the most powerful calculators Texas Instruments has ever made, has been abandoned.  It has nearly been six years since the last update of the ti-89’s operating system.  Is TI preparing for a massive update, or did they stop caring?  Whatever the reason, many Ti-89 owners are disappointed with the lack of effort on Texas Instruments part on keeping the calculators alive.

6. They killed the 85 and 86. (The 86 was 86'd :P) Great calcs, both had a memory-mapped display making for easy greyscale. 86 had as much RAM as the 83+SE but the OS made it all available, and it had ASM support (The 85 had as much as an 83+). The OS (both calcs) had more features than the 83+ Series calcs, had soft-keys, and allowed custom matrix and real variable names. Programs were run w/o any prgm prefix. Had easily accessible lower-case and Greek letters, not to mention other symbols. I could continue ;D If only they made upgradeable versions with Flash ROM.

I'm talking hardware. The 82, 83, and 85 have 32KB, while the 83+SE, an older 84+(SE), and the 86 have 128KB.
At any rate the 86 had user accessible all memory that was not reserved by the OS.

What's this continuous restart thing?

Hi,

I would like to redirect you to the forum rules at http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=ezportal;sa=page;p=2 , as your post is violating rule 1 and 7. According to your IP address, you appear to be a Bwang's family member, as you used his account before to post offensive messages on the forums.

If you want more info about this topic, you should check other calculator discussion threads for more information or search in www.ticalc.org FAQ or Help section for help on calculators. If you desire contributing on the forums in a more constructive way in the future, we will be happy to wish you a welcome here, but I do not think spam like the above will work.

here's a one which i found that is ridiculous (hope it's not already said)
TI-nspire: everytime you go into ti84 mode (and the batteries have been removed at one point) the ram clears
TI thought it would be a GREAT idea to return to the 1990 when the ram for a TI-81 reset every time the calc was turned on (Credit: DJ omni)

i just realised that verdant posted on this topic. outrageous!
all he does is complain about a community that is thriving and friendly

Yeah it's not the first time he does this. I don't know what kind of brother or sister Bwang got but he's sure quite arrogant. He used Bwang account back then to post crap like that. Now Bwang lives in a different area so I guess the person is free to use the computer more often than he wants, and is possibly jealous that Bwang can do all that stuff on calc.

At one point I may be forced to ban Bwang's parents home IP address so he won't be able to post anymore from there :/

Btw there are no language rules here but it was rather spammish.
