Does anyone own a CASIO FX-991DE PLUS?
« on: January 11, 2012, 01:08:17 am »
I didn't know this kind of model until today...
http://www.amazon.de/Casio-FX-991DE-technisch-wissenschaftlicher-Rechner-nat%C3%BCrlichem/dp/B0050OTQ42

It seems to be the most powerful scientific calculator of CASIO... I mean, the most powerful one in all CASIO scientific calculators.
And I really want a photo of its PCB~ or maybe an emulator?

I think you are talking about the ES-series emulator. There are such programs but they are not for distribution, whether free or by subscription. You have to contact Casio Tokyo direct for permission to have them.

This is a pic of an FX-82ES which has almost the exact same board as the fx-991 (in fact, you can upgrade from fx-82 to fx-991 with some hacking ;) )

@flyingfisch:
Hmm... all I see in your picture is some chinese characters then hi.baidu.com displayed at the bottom.

I seem to recall having seen these somewhere, not sure if it was in a store or online. I think it was under a different model number though.

In fact I want the diagnose information. Like this:
fx-991es plus
GY-455 VerB
SUM 87ED Pd-

Now we know there are three versions on plus models: VerA, VerB and VerE.
VerA and VerB have a double-chip design, while the newer VerE has single chip, and VerA never sells in China.
So where are VerC and VerD? I guess maybe fx991DE plus uses these versions.
By the way, fx-es plus models still have lots of bugs, (fx-es models are famous for bugs which make the screen full of symbols and dots) for CAISO scientific calculators doesn't have independent VRAM

I dont know very much about the fx-82/fx-991's, but if you really want to know, you may want to ask on casiocalc.org. The people there know a lot more about that than I do ;)
