I don't think that works on all computers...

How about this:

1. Open a NEW Command Prompt as calcdude84se posted earlier.

2. If
C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan>
appears, type
cd "My Documents"
exactly and press Enter.

3. If
C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan\My Documents>
appears, it works, and continue as calcdude84se posted.

EDIT: Wait, a reality check: Do you even have a folder called My Documents there? You can check with Windows Explorer (go to C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan) or (after opening up a new Command Prompt) typing dir.

Handy trick only works on vista and greater :(
Another tip you can do with the command line is use tab to cycle through the folders in the current path. Also useful, if you go into the wrong dir cd .. will take you back to the previous level

deep thought: when i open a new command prompt, neither "C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan>" nor "C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan\My Documents>" appear. and using quotes in "My Documents" does not work. and yes, i have a folder titled My Documents, which contains the folder ROMDUMP which contains rom8x.exe.

also, when i just type dir, i get some files and a couple folders listed. one of the folders is My Documents.

and if this helps at all, when i type <DIR> C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan\My Documents\ROMDUMP\rom8x.exe, it tells me the system cannot find the file. i checked my spelling twice, retyped it twice and it still didn't work, and then i checked windows explorer to make sure the file is located where i specified, which it is. i really don't know what to do next.

That's weird. What does appear? It's supposed to show the current directory.

Wow, that is weird. Can't help you, sorry.

EDIT: NEMO! I'VE FIGURED IT OUT! :D

Okay, so basically, you're using the wrong command prompt. I think there are two installed with every Windows computer, one at cmd.exe, and one at command.com. If you were running command, the command prompt that showed up probably showed something like C:\Docume~1\Ryan. That's the old DOS command prompt. Use the newer one by running cmd.

Sounds like the problem is solved, but FYI, TILP II 1.14 supports one-step (i.e. no need to create lots of Appvars and then transfer them) 84+(SE) ROM dumping through all cable models, including DirectLink.

I didn't even knew that old one existed ;D

I guess that's what happen when you don't have access to your very own computer until you are 17 years old and not much access at school until hi school x.x (in my case, by then most computers ran on Windows 95 and 98)
