they all look basically identical, and there isn't any built in GPS or any signal that's sent out when it's plugged into a computer. the only way you'll be able to get it back is if there was some distinctive feature that you can see at a glance, or if already suspect someone and have something distinctive in software that you can check. good luck, but i'm not sure how likely it is that you'll get it back =/

I asked most of the teachers where we use a calculator to look for it.
But without success for now, i hope the one who stole it didn't sold it :( there are only 2-3 others with an nspire from 1700 students so i hope it will be easy to find

and otherwise i have to spend another €140 for a new one :(

thanks for your answer

It always sucks when things like this happens. :( It's always best to keep a close eye on expensive things like calculators. Hopefully, it will turn up somewhere. It would be nice to find out that it was just misplaced instead of stolen.

They just steal calcs to sell them to make money or because they don't have a calc. They are huge assholes. Some even do that not to steal but to annoy people.

What's worse is that there are people who would temporally steal the calculator and RESET everything. May teh divine spirit of holy blue lobster brings down punishment upon those imbecile human beings.

Perhaps, you could set up a trap. Put another (fake?)fancy calculator with a tracker inside or something on a spot that the thief will most likely see. :P
(or just stand behind a curtainand wait).

Or you could tell aloud before everybody that you found the thief and blame an innocent person. >:D . Maybe the real thief would feel sorry and admit what he had done.

I'm just saying the first possible sollutions that pop in my head.
The chances of retrieving your calc in a  big school seems pretty small. :(

I think its gone forever but I have an idea how to get a new one for free (but it's not fully legal so don't ask)

and for the second part, the thief will probably put the calculator in the back of the innocent guy, so he looks total innocent.

i'm still hoping it is somewhere around in the school because there are 2-3 others with an Nspire. but i think its easy to sell (even for more then its worth for people who think its worth 200$ because of the colored screen and all the games that are on it,

better ti makes it possible to registrated when an as stolen calc is connected to someones pc.

and when the reset a calc with ndless installed, doesn't it get trapped in an reboot loop?

I don't know why people would do that. It happened to a classmate of mine, it were the final exams and right before the math exam, he had to go to the bathroom. When he returned, his nspire was missing from his table. He never got it back :(
