You have to use the arrow keys. The mouse doesn't work.
Edit: I guess your update fixed that
@Chockosta Could you add the feature where you click on a number with all mines filled and then all surrounding unclicked spaces will automatically be selected? It's equivalent to clicking with both mouse buttons at once in Windows Minesweeper. It does seem a little daunting.

Yeah, the mouse only works with a touchpad. You still can play with the arrows.

Yeah, it's just for speed. I guess you don't really need it because you can't go that fast on a calculator. On the computer it's really nice.
The main point is convenience so you don't need to click as much.
