Help with recording calc screen
« on: February 09, 2013, 01:19:50 am »
I use archlinux.
Well, recording to a gif with wabbitemu i can do.
Then, i want to convert the gif to a video file and scale it up to 1920x1080 pixels, but i don't want the blur, i want it pixelated.
VirtualDub does work under linux, but according to runer and clac84 the gifs that wabbitemu are so optimized that the frames don't have all the same length so i wanne know now how to convert that stuff.
I was never very good at explaining.
Thanks in advice.

One thing I did was just use irfanview to extract the frames from the gif. (you may have to try it several times, especially for larger gifs, because it acts weird the first few times extracting frames)
Then I batch resized them to the size I want using irfanview, and then used Windows live movie maker to compile all the frames into a video

IlostI wonder if there is a plugin for Vdub to fix the compatibility issue with irregular frame rate GIFs? VirtualDub screws up those so if you have a loading screen with nothing moving then that screen will disappear almost instantly.

Juju tells me that GIMP might be able to resize gifs properly, though.

another easy way to do it would be to just open the gif in gimp and resize it FIRST before converting to avi. just image->scale image, and make sure to set interpolation to "none".
