People often assume everyone has only got 1 calc unless they know you.

You know, it would be kinda funny if back in my hi school days when I was a bit popular for distributing calc games including two I made if I already had the 23 calcs I currently have and one day I brought all of them at school, then looked at people's face. XD

I'm betting that a bunch of people would mess with my locker, though. <_<

This is a very strange thread... Did graphing calculators suddenly become highly prized possessions overnight without my knowing or something?

Are you saying your calculator isn't a highly prized possession? What is this blasphemy >:(

But in all seriousness, I don't think most people care about graphing calculators enough to bother stealing one. It's not like people expect them to cost $100 nowadays <_<

As I said though it depends of if the thief knows a lot about the existing electronic devices. Eg if he went to Staples and checked prices of most stuff to see what kind of stuff might be worth stealing if seen, and it would be more in a school that a calc is at risk.

Also I remember hearing about thieves that didn't steal at school for the sake of stealing, but as a bullying tactic. Some people's bully will steal their stuff just to annoy them (or even destroy their stuff)

Keep in mind that to a thief looking to sell something they steal, they're not going to get anywhere near $100 out of a calc they steal. It's closer to $40 if it's in good condition.

I find this thread sort of funny in that only a true geek would ask that question (no bad feelings meant) :)

My school's a bit cruel. I lost mine one day and never got it back. I don't even know how I lost it xD

Now I just keep it in a pouch and hold it at all times.

Whenever I leave class, I always reach behind me to feel the lump of my cx and 83 in my backpack, not out of fear that someone would steal it, but out of fear that I might have left it in class.

Last year i kept it in my pocket always.
