Illusiat 3 beaten in 17 mins 25 secs (tool-assisted speedrun)

I did not realise how broken Illusiat 3 was. Technically the game lenght ranges from 1 to 5 hours of gameplay, but with luck manipulation (an example is writing down every enemy I encounter then reloading from previous saved state in WabbitEmu) combined with two game glitches as well as this game auto-save feature, you can grind at a so incredibly high speed that you can beat the game 3 times faster! So one day, out of boredom, I grabbed WabbitEmu and decided to show it off in a tool-assisted speedrun that lasts 17 minutes 25 seconds. No cheating/save hacking/code editing was used. Here's the speedrun below (divided in two parts due to Youtube lenght limit):

Part 1:
&fmt=18
Part 2:

Glitches abused:

-Final boss: When you don't defeat the first boss of dungeon 1, the final boss won't go in its final form. Instead the game ends right there (probably a missing End instruction)
-Experience stacking: In I3, you level up only once per battle maximum. A glitch causes the exp counter to not reset to 0 when LVing up, though. This cause the additional EXP to remain in bank, which is why I always return fighting early enemies even at high LV later in the game. Luck manipulation allowed me to occasionally hunt for low HP monsters in late dungeons, one-hit-killing them, stacking enough exp for 10+ weak battles. This is why I could grind this fast.

A week or two ago, I was bored and also did a TAS of the old calc classic Drug Cartel (which some people on IRC alerady seen, though). Here is it (game beaten in 2.75 seconds. I think I could have done a few centiseconds faster, though :P):

Cool...

Now, how much boredom is needed to try on your longest RPG? I wish I could be that bored sometimes to do some really crazy stuff for a change.

I doubt I would do it, because TASing takes a lot of time, especially without proper tools to do it x.x (such as being able to control the emulator speed including even slowing down, quick save/reload features and rerecording).

That's pretty great!  I didn't think this was even possible.  ;D  It's pretty cool and very well done.

I love the battle animations.  Do you mind if I use some of these in Elmgon?

No problem. You would need to check the game code, though, and optimize if needed. THere may be other animations too.
