The ironic thing about April 2000 is that 6.5 years later, Ticalc.org put ads on their site for real. :P

fff, the multilingual newsletter from april 2000 contains erroneous Swedish grammar. ;_;

It was translated using a translator. On top of that back in 2004 translators were absolutely terrible. Now imagine in 2000. :P
The French part of the newsletter is atrocious x.x

It's actually better than what I expected from an automatic translator. There are only three errors, and they are errors that can be slightly seen even in semi-professional translations from English to Swedish...

Yeah. Also the bad part is that there are a lot of people who have worse grammar in their own language than if it was translated from another language with an old translator. I don't really mind bad grammar/spelling, though, since there are a lot of people who don't speak certain languages as native languages, although I like when those who speak the language at home at least do some effort to make sure their post is readable.

Oh wow I lol'ed at that first one. I also remember the 2nd one. Mirage download page automatically redirected to a rickroll for a while. You had to press ESC before the redirects occurs.

There is an OS... Which was made in Asm, so it exists. Maybe there is another one, though

The "fake" part is about the article is that WFRNG is featured. The program does exist, but it sadly isn't COMPLEATELAY BUG-PHREE.

Some fake news are actually real or partially real. WFRNG was actually featured, but it won't be included in POTYs. The reason why the news is red-bordered is because it's meant to be funny. Kinda like the archivers discusses peeps one. WFRNG was featured as a joke to make a parody of all crappy guessing games that flooded ticalc.org archives for a while.
Back then, there were also quite a bit of articles involving the Earth stopping rotating for a while during ticalc.org events. I wonder what it was in reference too... :P

One of my favorite is the Playboy suing ticalc.org for usage of POTM acronym one and the Voyage 400. Now imagine if TI decided to start a Professor of the Year award then sue Ticalc.org for usage of POTY acrony... ;D

I really lol'ed at the 60+ ways to get your reviews and files accepted on ticalc ones as well as the book of TI, too. The funny thing with the articles mentioning advertisements is that they became a reality in 2006.

The last one was quite fun actually, as it was about WFRNG. Sadly, few people got it because they're too new in the community and most have never seen the previous news about WFRNG. The 2010 and 2009 april fools jokes were slightly less funny, but it was better than the 2008 april fools joke at least, IMHO. 2010 would have been funnier, but it was the 3rd time they do a joke with BASIC programs in a few years and the first time they did, ASM fanboys started a flame war against BASIC programmers. I wish they did a few more fake news too. I started to have more on Omni lately, although I try to space them between other news.

It doesn't. You can make crap in ASM just as easily as you can make crap in BASIC. Want an example? Check out the Tron game I made so many years ago.

yeah and crap ASM is worse than crap basic. crap basic takes up space. crap ASM frees it up. Lots of it. Lots as in all of it in fact. Or if it doesn't it makes you do it. (HOw many times have you had to pul a battery?)
