I believe that Metroid II: Evolution, ROL3, and Dark Link Quest use ASM libraries.

Spoiler For Projects:

My projects haven't been worked on in a while, so they're all on hiatus for the time being. I do hope to eventually return to them in some form or another...

Spoiler For Pokemon TI:
Axe port of Pokemon Red/Blue to the 83+/84+ family. On hold.

Spoiler For Nostalgia:
My big personal project, an original RPG about dimensional travel and a few heroes tasked with saving the world.
Coding-wise, on hold, but I am re-working the story.

Spoiler For Finale's Super Insane Tunnel Pack of Doom:
I will be combining Blur and Collision Course into a single gamepack. On hold.

Spoiler For Nostalgia Origins: Sky's Story:
Prequel to Nostalgia. On hold, especially while the story is re-worked.

Yes I think you were right about Metroid II: Evolution, but not about the others. I looked a little info up and all, but they seem to be pure basic. ;)

I know for certain ROL3 does. I'm pretty sure it uses the old xLib program version and Flash Gordon, possibly a few other libs.

Although the game uses ASM programs to run archived pictures and programs

And so does Dark Link Quest, though I don't know which ones specifically. It looks like it uses ZAPI, as well as Zpic and possibly others.

Also the game uses many ASM utilities that may cause compatibility problems

I hate menu-based rpg.
Menu: What do you want to buy?
1. Cookie
2. Lobster
3. Game

you press 3.
Menu. Do you really want to buy?
1. Yes
2. No

you choose 1.

Menu. Bought item.
1. Buy more
2. Exit shop

that takes so much time.
I'm not a nerd but I pretend:

85/86 calcs:
Final Fantasy 85 Beta BY Jared Laughlin
They featured menu-based BASIC RPGs? O.O
Yes, I believe so. It was in the time of POTM, so they didn't release a news article.
And I think text adventures can be fun. :)
