Congrats and good luck on getting it!
I don't know how much of a difference in speed there'll be, since from what I've heard graphing has been getting slower with every new calc and OS...
One of these days I'll get a sig I'm really proud of.

@Radical Pi: not to mention the lack of gaming capability so far on the nspire.

Someone will eventually hack it somehow and give it good gaming functionality. At least, I hope someone will.

Nice! 84+ still have 24KB RAm but if you use xLIB you can run programs from archive by copying them temporary into the RAM so its pretty cool, especially since you have 480 KB of archive and the 83+ only had 164

on top of that all 83+ games except reuben quest 1 are compatible with the 84+

I think he wants to buy an SE. ;)wink.gif

If you are buying an SE, you don't have to buy an 84+SE. The 83+SE is much cheaper that the 84+SE and is smaller and lighter than the 84+SE, too. However, this comes at the price that the 83+SE does not have a built-in clock function or a USB port (the latter can be pretty important when it comes to storage).

But does the 83+SE have as much memory as the 84+SE?

Same speed and RAM and Archive, cost less...I bought it over the 84, but if you want to get into using the USB for storage (as stated above) then get a 84..

The USB would probably be good to have

I also realized that the timer could add a new element to my games, so I think I'll go for the 84

but dont use timer in games, cuz then nobody else will be able to play it on the 83+/SE. You can make two version of your games though, like the first version of Age Of Culture 1, which was 84 only, and other one both but less acurate timer, since it was programmmed by the author
