I didn't quite understand that insult attempt from him to me . But yeah since 2009 I never took his stuff seriously, because he always only tried to control how we run the site, and whenever we get angry at him for criticising everything our staff or myself does, he does stunt like this (although this PM was the worst so far.) Normally he simply bashes Omni in public calc channels.

Also on a side note I also got a copy of that PM via e-mail, but it was in my spam folder last night. And I did get this message, which DrDnar forwarded to me as I had joeyoung on my ignore lists:

You are correct ignoring it is the better way to go, and unfortunately I was too upset myself to ignore it and I responded in kind. This was a mistake because I was feeding the troll. My mistake

I would really just prefer if we didn't have these sorts of threads to begin with. All they do is spread negative vibes throughout the community and make everybody angry. They also do not belong in a community "free of hostility", because they are being hostile to those who are hostile to us! In the words of Mahatma Ghandi, "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." We are blinding ourselves by doing this.

The best way of stopping this sort of thing is to ignore it.

Ummm...this is exactly what I was trying to say in the topic I posted earlier, but then it got locked (and subsequently moved to spam so guests cannot see it) Looking back, posting it when I did was not the best idea, but why lock it? It gives the impression that the message I had was not wanted, that we should do the opposite of not responding to trolls. I'm sorry if I hurt anyone; I will never know what it feels like for someone else when they are insulted, or their ways of dealing with it, so I was being insensitive in thinking that it would be easy for everyone to ignore trolls, but I feel saying what I said was necessary after seeing Metagross111's PM, and Eeems' retaliation, because I thought the situation would deteriorate into more of the same.

I'm guessing you didn't see the other thread saying the same type of thing that was locked we were locking all topic that were talking about it because we were trying to stop fueling the flames.

I just read my old post and I guess you're absolutely right, I was way too harsh and Im sorry about that.  I just guess I was way beyond PO'd when I read it, so I accidentally lost my reason and showed what in was thinking.  Now that I think about it clearly, I agree with you completely, the best thing would be to ignore it.  However, I still think someone (less reckless than me) should still call him out on it via a strict but calm email.
