Nleash is only compatible with OS 2.1 as stated in the ReadMe file, although this infinite startup is strange. Please follow the procedure described in the troubleshooting section of the documentation.

i tried this with the touchpad non-CAS with 2.0, and it keeps going through the start up over and over again. how can i put it back?

Did you go through the installation of a 1.X OS ?

If yes, did you replace your TouchPad keypad ?
As mentionned in the TI-Bank news ( http://ti.bank.free.fr/844 ) you need a ClickPad keypad.
The TI-Nspire TouchPad basic keeps rebooting if you use a 1.X OS with a TouchPad keypad.

Hmmm, a bit off topic, but, I dont think TI can really fight against Nleash.

One question though

To get past the downgrade protection, doesnt that require asm of some sort? I mean, there is no way for nsprire basic to accomplish that. If so, this means that the .tns is executing asm, without ndless?

yeah i red the readme, and it says "If the TI-Nspire becomes unusable:
 * Enter the maintenance menu by rebooting it while holding the keys
ON+Home+Enter+P until half the progress bar. To reboot the TI-Nspire, unplug
the USB cable, then remove and put back a battery.
 * Select '2' to uninstall the current OS. Reinstall it when asked to."

arent on and home the same button? i cant get that to work. oh and earlier i tried to install 1.1 without Nleash and failed, if thats relevant.

First, to clarify your last statement, it is impossible to install OS 1.1 without Nleash.

Since you are saying that home and on are the same buttons, I am assuming that you are using the touchpad.  The keypad mappings are different for the touchpad than the clickpad.  Your only option is to buy a clickpad from TI or wait for someone who knows this key combo for the touchpad to post it.

Ok, well i installed 2.1 and it works fine. so i put the Nleash in and started it up, everything went the way the readme said it would, so then i installed the 1.1, and its doing the infinite startup again. i think i might just have a bad copy of 1.1. could anyone email me it?

you can't distribute an OS, so no one can e-mail it to you.

You can't install OS 1.1 anyway without the clickpad.  You have to buy the clickpad and replace the touchpad with it, else OS 1.1 won't run, the software does not support the touchpad hardware.  ;)  Even if you do install it, without extensive modification to both the hardware and the software, the touchpad won't work.  (But if you could make it work, you will have the TI-Community's thanks :))

ohhh i found the problem, the readme says:
"TouchPad TI-Nspires can be downgraded to OS 1.x with the help of Nleash and a
non-CAS ClickPad. Nleash must be run for every OS 2.0 to 1.x downgrade on these
models."
I don't have a clickpad, and i bought mine used, so i couldnt get the free one. anyone know the cheapest way to get one?

if your lucky, you might find one on ebay, but most of the time it's just the 84 keypad or the click pad, 84 key keypad and the Nspire.  You could go on a trading website and swap your touchpad for a Clickpad.  Anyone not in the TI community would do that.

no, I don't think so.  But why would you need to?  They're the same price.

No, you can't run the Nspire OS with the 84 keypad.
