Non-working calc!
« on: September 13, 2011, 08:50:19 pm »
I ran thepenguin77's game of life version 2...and I think it bricked my calc!!!!!!

I tried switching keypads (from 84 to Nspire back to 84, the Nspire part works fine), tried battery pulls, and even the RESET button on the back!

It just shows a black dot in the middle, nothing responds or works!

Help!

Life doesn't do anything out of the ordinary, so although that was the cause on the surface, what actually happened was much deeper.

However, the Nspire is not my area of expertise, so I can't help much. :-\

(At the very least, it makes me happy that people are running my programs)

You can build a statue out of either 1'x1' blocks or 12'x12' blocks. The 1'x1' blocks will take a lot longer, but the final product is worth it.

:( I can't even connect it to the computer...

EDIT: Force-RAM clear (while booting, held in all 4 arrow keys) did the trick.

One time, when I ran downgrader, it displayed some kind of wierd menus, so I thought my calc was gone forever XP
Fortunately, nspire experts were nearby.

Just used the force RAM clear trick twice today. <_< I am returning my Npsire and getting a normal TI-84+SE (hopefully).
