Nspire 1.1 power management bug

I understand that to use ndless on an nspire, one must have OS 1.1. Sadly, the OS comes at a price, a bug where the LCD does not turn on properly.
I was wondering weather the community could somehow fix this, with a permenant patch, or something.

Patching the os is not feasible atm. (We need to crack the RSA signing or find some other exploit) I wonder if it is possible to reinitialize the LCD using the correct method, and running it like the reset program.

Calc84 made a patch, but it gets annoying after a while, I want to see if there was a way to make the LCD permenantly stay on

Well, the only annoying part about calc84's patch is the fact that we have to wait for the calc to reboot each time we restart it, which is not too bad once you get used to it, but I wonder if there is a way to write a program that makes the LCD go on without having the calculator reboot.

Yeah, another annoy part is having to have the patch highlighted everytime before you turn off

Well, that is not necessary if you can navagate to it without seeing it. For example, put it in a folder named "a" and then when you turn it on, press home, 6, up a few times (to make sure you are at the top),right (to open the folder in case it is closed), enter. This will activate the reset program.

Yeah same here, I always forgot where the folder was, so it was hit and miss. It eventually became easier and faster for me to just remove a battery and reboot

DJ, remember that doing that causes the connectors to get loose, or something of the sort

Yeah true, I did not want to harm my calc in any way in the end. Also, the folder+reset.tns trick doesn't work in 84+ mode because you have no way to access the Nspire folders
