Interesting. At first I was skeptical about if it's real or not because of where I read about it earlier today (the same place that announced waterproof TI-Nspires over a year ago), until I saw a source in the news and read the other site. Hopefully this is helpful (and not too much more expensive)

i think it's a great device! Its nice that it allows graphing calculator technology to be accessable to the visually impaired or blind. :)

We newsed about it too, and started to discuss the protocol, the connectivity and the compatibility with other models:

Totally agreed. I do wonder how it will work though. How would it 'explain' the graph for example?

Is there a way to connect earphones to it ? It would be stupid to prevent visually impaired people from using it at test due to it giving the answer to everybody.
I own: 83+ ; 84+SE ; 76.fr ; CX CAS ; Prizm ; 84+CSE
Sorry if I answer with something that seems unrelated, English is not my primary language and I might not have understood well. Sorry if I make English mistakes too.

Something I wonder is what will be the hardware used and will there be enhancements in order to support the extra load from the sound/speech thing? And yeah it would definitively need to allow using headphones if it's gonna say answers :P

The article says you are able to hook it up to a printer that can create raised images, so they can feel the graph. :)

TiBoySE already supports sound.
