I see dead calculators

I see dead calculators but computer coming alive. Is the TI 84 family beginning to come into an age of super calculators/computer. I have been noticing some very very astonishing software coming out for the 84 family. There has been usb8x which starts the wave of insanity. Now there is msd8x which basically adds endless memory to your calcultor and I have heard of someone making print8x which you can hook you calculator up to a printer and print stuff. Now I don't know for sure about Kerm's internet hookup project but it would be awesome if we could add internet capability to 84 family. I'm thinking a new OS I know its highly impossible but more than any other time this seems like the time to use the technology and make a new OS. Maybe you could load the new OS onto a MSD and run it or just replace the whole TI-OS but then there could be printer capability, internet, music maybe. So does anyone agree that new wave a computers is 84 family. I mean adding up all the things you would need like a calc,MSD, cables it would still only be $250 at most.

So how about it I see mIRC, TI-Word, AIM, Internet Explorer TI???

I don't know maybe I'm crazy but to me this seem realistic and the community has just amazed me with so many things that people thought were impossible. But if these things happen believe me my computer is going right to a pawn shop and I am keeping my 84+.

Hm dunno. The biggest restriction would the the b/w screen with a way to low reolution for internet sites

So... you could kinda make it into a cellphone with all those capabilities and more. (Like cellphone has Internet, etc.) But I don't know if the 84 has enough hardware power to do that. It might be possible on an 89 with some serious work, but I'm not sure about teh 84.

I see the 84 becoming the most powerful mod calc we've ever seen.
We're only starting to realize their potential as music players with Realsound and the extra mem. Online capabilities aren't too far away. But after that, what's left to do?
I'll tell you: the 89 and its mod race. Luckily it won't stop ait internet with its extra power. Who knows how far that will go before TI releases the next TI-8# model...
and yes, that's my clever way of excluding the Nspire from being a real calc. V200 and TI-92 at least have numbers so they count...
