I feel that everyone has already stated everything more useful (wow I'm late... :P), so I'll just wish you best of luck with life :D

My parents offered to pay for every cent of community college.
Btw are there any conditions to this? Like, for example, you must stay at their home for the entire time you're into college and must not do any calc stuff and you still have all computer filters turned ON for the entire time? O.O

Umm, no.  They will remove filters and give me administrator access to my laptop when I turn 18, or so they claim.

What are the odds that they will stay true to their claim?

can we keep this on topic? The topic is about what the big thing might be, NOT SEX

does it matter?
he bought it right?
When he is 18, why not just remove the settings yourself?
Or are these like super high-tech security programs and filters?

Note: i am not suggesting anything illegal.

It depends, Happybobjr. I was 20 years old in 2007 and my mom still removed my internet access for spending too much time online. AS long as you don't rent the appartment or own the house here, it seems like we don't have the last word and the only solution is to move out.

Just so you know, SirCmpwn is grounded for all the Christmas Break and is supposed to be ungrounded sometime in early 2011, but with his parents, it isn't guaranteed. Since he goes in vacation on Friday, he will most likely not be able to access the forums after that time.

Hello,
The situation with my parents worsened.  I am grounded until sometime in early 2011.  My calculators and computer access have been taken away, and I cannot access another computer over break, which begins Friday.  I will be unable to visit the forums during this time.
I would appreciate it if you were to relay these details on your respective forum.
Thanks, and see you next year.

My goodness... Programming can be a lucrative profession. I am a software engineer for Lockheed Martin. I perform tasks such as designing, coding, testing, integration, and troubleshooting software for the Joint Strike Fighter F-35. I make a pretty good salary.

It takes a lot of practice to get really good. Parents grounding their children from doing things they love (like programming) can have a negative impact on their child's income. Why?

To me it seems more like they're totally against calc programming. To me it's stupid because with calc programming you can get better at computer programming. With TI-BASIC you learn the programming concepts easily then learn to optimize like crazy due to limited language and platform, and with ASM you learn to code in low level where you have to mess with memory to do anything.

I put calculator programming on my resume. During my first interview, the interviewer was very curious and asked a lot of questions about it. I believe it helped me land my job. :)
