« on: August 02, 2010, 04:41:20 pm »
I promised a screenshot of the TI-76.fr calculator ROM in action the other day. Here is it, now. Thanks to Critor2000 on TI-BANK for posting the self-test keys (in http://tibank.forumactif.com/actualites-f7/touches-pour-l-autotest-76fr-73-t4612.htm ) as well as to the person I will not name that provided me the rum.

Wabbitemu.  It should run any Z80 rom that works with the calculator, but I may be mistaken

Also, this is sort of unrelated, but has anyone realized the TI-89 for France looks different.

I used Wabbitemu, but the skin will not work, since WabbitEmu doesn't support TI-76 skin natively. The ROM will behave fine, though, since it's pretty close to the 82 STATS/83.

I think the TI-73, they were developed for the same audience according to Datamath's page about it.

The userbars in my sig are links embedded links.

And in addition to calculator (and Python!) stuff, I mod Civilization 4 (frequently with Python).

Not really. The only thing the TI-76.fr has that the 73 got similary is the ALPHA screen where you enter text. There's no MathPrint like the 73 and every function that are available on the calc are the same as on the 83. Same for the way the calc works. Aside from some missing stuff and the TI-73-style letter typing, the TI-76.fr ROM is pretty much a 83 one. The calc hardware is supposedly similar to the 83+, though. Its similar to the 83+ not the 83 hardware wise.

Desolate had an 83 version too I believe.

Hardware-wise it's like a TI-83+
Software-wise it's like a TI-83

And yeah Desolate was originally 83-only. It required the ancestor of Noshell to be ran: Venus. The 83+/84+ version came out about half a year later.

Hardware-wise it's an 83. That's why they were able to easily take the 83 OS, screw around with it, and slap it on there.

If it contained FLASH, I'd have already put the 83+ OS on mine.
