Although the fact the 68K OS isn't updated anymore is kinda scary. Sometimes lack of updates almost sounds like they might discontinue the entire line at one point. Fortunately, this isn't the case for the 84+ as they just released 2 OSes in 1 year.

I'll be glad when they give up on adding bugs to the OS

Fixd' yo! :P

Yea, I think they did that mostly to keep up a good public image. We've been constantly accusing them of not updating their product line for years, so the made some minor additions to make it appear as if they cared/ were still interested in improving/maintaining it.

I lol'd at your first quote. :P Personally for the 84+ I think they might have seen people were worried about the future of that calculator line and to avoid hurting their sales due to peopel going with Casio, for example, they just released a new OS.

Well, the 2 OS's weren't particularly good and they didn't update anything major (if you call mathprint major) I found the statistics wizards helpful though.
Also, Axe programs tend to corrupt the stats functions, giving mem errors. I wonder why? It has something to do with free ram (I think L2 or L4) because I trial-and-errored with graviter.
In-progress: Graviter (...)

Yeah, to me they just wanted to do something like on the 89 (Mathprint) and simply wanted to have an actual OS update, even if it didn't add much. I personally prefer OS 2.43 MP.

Btw if this happens with Axe, you should probably report this to Quigibo.

@Leafiness: If I recall I think someone said they just hijacked the pre-existing Mathprint code from the TI-73 and plugged it in. Don't quote me on that though. I don't know about the stats wizard though.

Hmm I think I recall hearing about this before AOC. I am curious if such OS patch exists in stable form...

would be great if this came out in the U.S.
Luckily(or not), I will be moving to germany after this school year and then can easily get one(hopefully)
sadly, this also means having to pay ridiculously high prices on most calcs

This could be interesting... but I wouldn't get it unless I lost/broke my existing calculator.

Well, as I no longer own a working15Mhz calculator, this could be a viable option for me. It really depends on how badly TI messes it up what features are included and how compatibility is.

Yeah I seriously hope it won't come with even weaker hardware or something. Or even worse screen.

A more portable TI-84 would be nice. I usually just carry mine around in my pocket without the front case on. Makes it not so awkward. A true pocket TI-84 would be an emulator on the iDevices. I haven't seen any yet though. Here's to hoping. :)

Funny you mention that Parker I started working on an emulator for iDevices. But I have to wait for the toolchain script to come out for the newer version of iOS.

A ti-84 emulator for iDevices would be great! I wonder if there are any iphone developers here that can release it for cydia.
