TI-BANK...
« on: August 19, 2011, 06:18:09 pm »
Anybody know what happened to TI-BANK?? It gave a 403 Forbidden error for me since I checked this morning! O.O

Did the site got suspended/closed or something or is it just Free that messed up again? ???

No, Mic didn't mess it up.

Free shut down (temporarily) the website for a "huge load" and "local files as databases" reason, probably, we aren't really sure what the want from us.

Ouch this sucks. I guess this is because Free is an overseller. Any cheap host like 1and1 offers you loads of resources, but they still shut you down if you use too many. Actually 1and1 told me once I should switch to a VPS if my site took more resources. Finally we moved to a more expensive host that didn't mind, else in OCtober 2010 I think the same thing that is happening to TI-BANK right now would have happened to us.

I'm not sure what is "local files as databases" though, but I hope you can find another decent host that lets you use enough resources and still won't charge too much.

Actually, Cemetech seems to be doing rather fine on Surpasshosting, but I notice some slow loading times sometimes, which might be even worse in Europe.

Oh, Mic might not be innocent...

Remember he has written to TI-France, Jarrety (approved french TI dealer) and even Free, complaining about me stealing his passwords, although he gave the site to me, and then removed the news saying so...

I wouldn't be surprised if Free was getting many emails, and had just processed Mic's email and taken a closer look at TI-Bank's huge content this morning... Baka!

Yeah that probably didn't help. I also hope Free didn't freak out at all the softwares by TI that are hosted there like older versions of TI-Connect not available anymore on TI website... personally it would suck because TI-BANK is always where I went to find such softwares and also TI don't seem to mind anyway.

For me, Cemetech loads about as fast as other websites or maybe slightly slower, so I don't think it's much worse here in Europe.

Could this be the new site???? O.O

That said now it's password protected, so they probably left it open for a few minutes by mistake.

Hopefully it doesn't remain down for too long so the french TI community doesn't take too long to recover.
