from what i read on ti nspire page they are not planning on discontinuing the 68k and z80 series so thats a good thing, they're just adding the nspire to their production lines. I hope people will not quit buying 84+/89t tho

Something tells me the Nspire won't sell very well after the first few months. Though there will always be the people who assume the newest calculator is the best calculator and rush to buy it.
Are there any online petitions to give the Nspire programmability in the next OS yet?

Idk, but if it doesnt sell well maybe if people tell them they should add programming (maybe they'll add apps support that allow programming basic/running assembly?) maybe they'll do

And in response to your forum signature it should be fixed soon. It,s because one of the member was abusing the bbcode and it went out of our control so the only way was to completly disable it

but now he doesnt cause as much trouble and was warned he would be banned if he did

For some reasons I believe TI is not trying to make calc gaming fade away from calcs. It would be contradictory since they intended to make some TI-BASIC commands from older calcs usable in calc games (even though the language was slow a**)

But my TI manual date back in early 2001 (and it seems to be 1999 edition) so it has been a long while since they said this

^.^ indeed. besides, TI probably has one of the strongest dev communities (for games ^.^) among graphing calcs. although it seems to have broadened to so much more in the past few years (emus, more assemblers, etc).
