Tl-Nspire OS 3.0 coming today?
« on: March 20, 2011, 12:34:57 pm »
Right now, at 12:32 PM EDT where I'm at, TI's Nspire web site says it's down for maintanance till 1:00 EDT (12:00 CDT). I wonder if it's down to change things for the new TI-Nspire system. What do you all think?

I think it was already available before for some reason.

It's impossible, Bush, but I'm not sure.

Ooh, I didn't think of that! I noticed it was down, but I didn't realize that it might be linked with a large update...

I haven't seen education.ti.com down much in many years so it's got to be something important. We'll just have to wait and see what it is.

I believe I saw it down before, maybe they're redesigning their site or something?

Also I noticed for the past weeks that the calculator info pages no longer worked in Opera when accessed from the drop-downs on the calculator list section. Maybe they're fixing a few site bugs?

It's looking like their site is back up. No Nspire System 3.0 yet. I wonder if it'll be released maybe at the start of April?

Yeah I see no changes. They were probably recoding some stuff as some pages that stopped working now works.

Question, anyone knows if the thing about "Features a dedicated programming environment as well as programming libraries for global access to user-defined functions & programs" that is on http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/productDetail/us_nspire_cx.html?bid=5 was already there since the beginning?

That clause describes pretty well what's already on the TI-Nspire. There's a program editor, and programming libraries already. You just can't do too much with this "dedicated programming environment".

I just hope they add some more I/O commands, especially some menu commands. If they do, then I might consider porting over Jack Game.

Yes. I saw it on the day the CX was announced.

Ah ok, well then I guess there's nothing new. Also GB on an off-topic note are you planning to announce your projects updates here eventually? :D

I plan on doing so once I reach 40 posts so I can place them in the archive. That ought to happen pretty shortly.

Aaah ok. Well, make sure they got some form of graphics, though, or ASCII art, since the archives doesn't accept text-based games. Otherwise you can always post a new topic, though.
