I'm using the cord that came with my calculator. When I plug it in and try to put files on the calculator with TI-Connect, under destination it says 'Incompatible Type'. I have no idea what that means.

Ok, so you are using this cable(see attached picture)? Your calculator is showing up in TI connect correct? What are you trying to send to it?

Yeah, that's the cord. I'm trying to send over a game called Portal Prelude.

The files you are trying to send over are Portal.8Xk and PortalPK.8Xv correct? Is your version of TI connect up to date?

I just downloaded TI-Connect like, last week, so it should be up to date.
I'm not sure what the exact files are called, and I don't think TI-Connect detects my calculator at all. Could this be a problem with the cable? I've never tried to use the cable before this, it's just sat in the packaging for years.

Is this for a Mac or Windows OS? My TI-Connect on my Mac has being iffy at best.
If its a Mac open TI Device Explorer and then plug in your USB side first in your comp and then the other end into you calc. You should see your device pop up in TI Device Explorer. If it doesnt show up right away try hitting the refresh button in TI Device Explorer.
If your using Windows open Ti-Connect. Follow the same steps above for hooking up the cables. Then open TI Device Explorer and it should pop up a window where it will try to find a device to connect to. If you have done this before it might just go right to the TI Device Explorer screen without the little pop up. In that case you will see your device listed, with a bunch of sub-options, such as Screen Image, Device Settings and Flash/Archive. If you arent seeing this, you probably have to install the driver for TI-Connect.

Is this tutorial still valid for TI-Connect 4.0 by the way? I know that it doesn't work for Mallrd for the TI-73 but this might have been an issue with past versions as well. Just wondering if stuff broke or if everything is still fine?
