Did you try FA-124? Haven't used it in a while but it worked without needing a CD or anything iirc.

Go to this website https://edu.casio.com/download_service/en/download/cate_gc.html
Now, click on the check box labelled "Support Software", then click Next. Then, download FA-124. FA-124 automatically installs the linking program (FA-124) and the drivers.

Have you clicked on the "Connect" button on FA-124 after plugging in your calculator? That is, if you've installed the newest version of FA-124.

Sadly I do not have any driver files myself, as I got a FX-9860G.

Also the FX-9860 Slim is discontinued so drivers for it might not even exist anymore, especially with how few people has a FX-9860G series calc, let alone a slim. This might explain why there might not be any driver, but also I think it might be against the forums rules to upload them so you might need someone to e-mail you.

the program used to transfer files is fa-124. When you install it, it also install the driver. Assuming you already have this program installed, you do not need any extra software.

i did a post about fx9860 files transfer some weeks ago, maybe this can help you. It is organized by extensions, but still I think it will be helpful.

My suspicions about your problem
1) Usb cable or pc usb port damaged. Try change the cable or COM port.
2) Maybe you have in Link menu, Cable Type: 3 pin, instead of the usb.

I hope my post will help you.

By the way, do you have a 64 bits Windows install? If so, then you're screwed: FX-9860 Slim drivers are 32-bits only (unlike 9860G/GII/SD ones, which are still maintained). I'm not even sure if they'll install on anything newer than Windows XP, even in compatibility mode.
