Can't backup my OS
« on: February 16, 2014, 12:56:51 pm »
Okay so I am trying to update my Casio calculator version 02.02.0701 to the fx-9860gii OS, but I can't backup my OS as I can't find it. I have installed Casio FA-125 and fxRemote, but when I go on fxRemote to backup my calculator I don't know where to look for the .fls file. I know my calculator can connect to the PC as it can connect on Casio FA-124 and I can see it as a driver (it's called CESG502), I have checked it for updates, it says its fully updated. So where do I find the .fls file? (it's not in 'My Computer), plus I have run a search of my computer and cannot find it.

Thankyou for reading this lengthy post, I hope I have put this in the right thread  :-\
Could someone perhaps send me a link to a backup

Also, due to my lack of patience I tried to update my OS anyeway using 2_02_0201_sh4.fls but it says 'The connected machine seems to be a GII-2. It is not possible to do a recovery from out of OS 2.02. Start the primary OS updater and retry, please. (F2-AC/on-4-RESTART...9-x).

I have now installed the fx9860 OS now, despite having no backup (I know it was risky but I am not patient  :w00t:). However I would still like to have a backup in case I screw it up when I download progrms etc.

Have you checked the http://edu.casio.com website? I think you might be able to download it there, else I don't think any backup is available elsewhere. D:

Btw I didn't know that FA-125 existed. I thought the latest was 124 O.O

Oh ok lol thanks for the clarification. I knew there were issues with 64-bit OSes a few years ago but I was sure it stayed with FA-124 name. :P

You click Backup and type in a filename.
