I drew them all, the first 15 or so by hand, then I decided to write a program to assist drawing them, and displaying the hex:
http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/389/38904.html
I will now see about finishing off the pokedex, and integrating it with the game.

yeah, i use your sprite-hex program, very handy (xcept i suck at drawing so it can't help me there
)
Do you use your RPGSK system for this game?
And how are you going to do the insides of houses? because i want to make an ascii game sometime and i need to know how to do it

I am using a heavily modified version of the RPGSK, since there are tons of events the calculator will have to handle.
As to the houses, it will be a matter of having the program look if it stepped on the D character, and then going to the appropriate program to figure out where it needs to go.

ok, i see.
BTW, how many different sub-programs are you going to have? And will you archive and unarchive during the game?

I use a program called Resource (
http://tifreakware.net/tutorials/83p/b/misc/resource.htm
) to do the whole archive/unarchive thing, and as to how many sub-programs... God only knows. There will be a lot of them, that is for sure.

It does, but all he programs' memory usage mushed together need to be below 17k. PP has way too many programs to be put into the BasicBuilder app.
However, tifreak8x, you could possible make two or three BasicBuilder apps:
One for the pictures, one for the maps, and one for the rest

There are only 2 or 3 pics so far, so having 16k designated for pics in an app would be pointless...
Installation of this game will be so easy, a 5 year old could do it, though I understand there will be some moron out there that will get it wrong...
Basically, you send all the files in the RAM folder to RAM, and all the archive files to ARCHIVE, and there you go, all done.
I am going to spend the time sometime to day, and copy the PTI program and folder, and see about making it specifically for Pokemon purple. What I will have to do is set each program to RAM from my calc, and recall all the data program by program, and manually set it to archive in PTI. This way, I can give screenshots of the game in action.
